I've played it a few times (it's still on my computer). I've had this game for over 5 months and have admin on a couple of servers, including the rcon (internal & external) for one of them. One of the best FPS games I've played in a long time. Quake 3 doesn't like x86_64, and the performance is noticably lower on x86_64. PaulBredbury is fixing the ebuild, so if your on x86_64 it will get the binary. I may or may not submit a fixed ebuild for x86_64 computers. I got the GNU Assembler to compile the bytecode on x86_64. Well, I'm working on getting it to work with GNU as for x86_64. The link up there isn't to a binary ebuild, as of yet there isnt a binary ebuild avalaible Is there anything wrong with still using the quake3-tremulous ebuild, is it out of date/incompatable with standalones etc?ĮDIT: Site says 1.0.2 for q3 is outdated, nvm
Gentoo Hardened Linux 2.6.21 + svorak (Swedish dvorak) I'm going to try it on my desktop computer later on. Perhaps it cannot run with an i915 graphics card? I haven't been able to get it running on my laptop so far. This is one of the few FPS I can bare to play for a while at a time, the matches usually last around 45min. SST is always populated, I sort of suggest it even if some of the admins are retarded. I usually play on the alien side even though I'm pretty good on FPS. I posted on their forums to get unbanned.Īnyway, you don't have to be great. SST seems good, but I think the main admin is looking for new admins, because there used to be only two. (disclamer, I am not good at FPS and I can't play for longer than 15 minutes cause it gets old, but everynow and then I would like to be able to play on a fair server.
You know what this means, you should setup a server and play a little 'admin' yourself! That game is baddass! i just installed it (standalone *.run from the tremulous website), runs really smooth on my amd64+radeon combo! So I came back a couple of minutes later, and I get banned for 7 days. because of their subjective opinion (Yay!) I suggest going to a server called "SST Tremulous" - It's usually the most populated and the few admins there are on a lot. It's a really addicting game so watch the clock.Īs I mentioned before, when there's not a (good) administrator on the server there are a lot of vote kicks. Looks like I have even more reason to now =] I was just reading about this game yesterday and thought I would try it out.

So they freeze you so you can't move for 30 seconds and everyone gets free kills against you. They whine when you are better than them and they say you must be cheating, even though anticc didn't detect anything. I know some jerks on ut2004 that are the same way. They kept tking me for no reason, and when I tked them they got me kicked.
